Radek Nemejc

BIO

Radek Němejc - czech jazz drummer,  was born in Pilsen on 29.5.1971. His first music teacher was the legendary czech trumpeter František Kučera, then he attented Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory under teacher Vladimír Žižka. He was chosen by a team of teachers from the Copenhagen Conservatory for study visit workshop in Copenhagen, led by Ed Thigpen, Barry Harris and Django Bates. Thank to performance in a band with Zuzana Dumková, he was invited by famous czech double-bass player Jaromír Honzák, with whom he first performed in the trio of guitarist Sammy Vomacka and went on his first concert tour of Germany. Further cooperation with promiment musicians from Czech republic and abroad followed: Karel Růžička s., Karel Růžička j., Antonín Gondolán, Věra Gondolánová, Filip Gondolán, Najponk,  Robert Balzar, Stanislav Mácha, Tomáš Baroš, Julius Baroš, Ondrej Krajňák, Jozsef Botosz, Josef Fečo, Štěpán Markovič, Kuba Cichocki Matija Dedic, W. de Oliveira, Joe Gallardo, Olga Škrancová, Brian Charette, Kornel Fekete-Kovacs, Vojtěch Eckert, Gabriel Jonáš, Tony Pusztai, Ondřej Štveráček, Dan Fiedler, Jiří Nedoma etc.

In the past he also wrote and recorded music for Epoque string quartet and jazz trio for the opening exhibition photographs by Hanzelka and Zikmund in the pilsen synagogue. He also wrote and recorded theater music for theater performances "Sen Noci Svatojánské" and for Divadlo Komedie "Quartet podle Laclose". In 2001 he has been involved in educational activity, in the past at International Conservatory in Prague /2008 - 2017/ and in DDM Hl.m. Praha Spektrum /2001 - 2014/ . He performes in the projects: Radek´s Group, Julius Baroš Q., Zuzana Vlčeková Q., Luci Radecká & trio, Filip Gondolán Gang, in the musical Hello Dolly and occasional projects.
